According to a recent article in ChristianPost, the secular band Jonas Brothers will be performing next month at Saddleback's easter service. First of all, I have to say that this really doesn't surprise me. And second of all, since easter has nothing to do with Messiah then why should Saddleback? And for those who see this as an opportunity to reach an audience that "otherwise wouldn't be reached;" this isn't the way it's done. You don't adopt the ways of the world to reach the world. When Messiah taught that we are in this world yet not of this world, it didn't mean that we try to blend in and look like the rest.
"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him" - 1 John 2:15.
I think Mr. Warren is going to have some explaining to do...,
