A Dangerous Precedence

When I thought that it couldn't get any worse, this administration has done it again. I am completely disgusted with the decisions that the Obama administration makes over and over again, which are sure to bring harm to the United States and her citizens. As a matter fact, Obama stated that he was almost assured that these "Obama Five" senior taliban operatives will bring harm once again. How can a sitting President be comfortable with such logic?!! Obama has admitted that he is willing to sacrifice the safety of the United States for one person.

Now, I am not saying that Bergdahl's life is not important. However, as a military veteran, who served during Operation Desert Storm, I was conscience of the fact that I may have to sacrifice my life for the security and the welfare of many. I volunteered to do so. I also understood that if I was ever captured by the enemy and imprisoned as a POW, that my life was secondary to the overall mission. Beyond that reality, I knew that there may be a chance that the I may never be rescued. Therefore, it was up to me, to survive, evade, resist and escape (SERE). There are consequences in war.

In the case of Bergdahl, is almost certain that he not only abandoned his post, but deserted his military service and violated his oath. His actions, have cost the lives of fellow soldiers and will most certainly cost the lives of more Americans, which is perfectly acceptable by the Commander in Chief (Obama).

Because of his poor decision to negotiate with terrorists, this president has set a very dangerous precedence, which has put not only our troops in danger, but also our citizens abroad and maybe domestically.
